Project update: Housing 500 people in two days

In early April 2026, Bed-Stay was called in for an emergency accommodation project at Breepark in the Netherlands. The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) needed sleeping facilities for over 500 people, in a single large hall, with almost no lead time. The system went up in two days.

We delivered Bed-Stay Cubes for the full capacity. No tools, no complicated briefings, no delays. For the project partner involved, the speed was not a surprise: a similar project had been completed at the same location two years prior, so the process was familiar on both sides.

What the project makes clear, again, is that this type of situation is exactly where modular sleeping systems earn their place. Not because the circumstances are comfortable, but because people in these situations deserve a predictable, private place to sleep. A large hall full of separate field cots does not offer that. The Bed-Stay Cube does.

The project was evaluated across three criteria: problem-solving, meeting client objectives, and adherence to delivery timelines. All three received the highest score. The overall rating was a 5 out of 5. The feedback from the project partner was direct: Bed-Stay delivers what it promises, and this type of deployment is what the product is built for.
